CAREER DEVELOPMENT LOANS

A Career Development Loan (CDL) can be used to fund any full-time, part-time or distance learning course as long as it is vocational.

Individuals can apply to borrow between £300.00 and £8,000.00 to cover up to 80% of their course fees.

Anyone who has been out of work for three months or longer may apply for cover for 100% course fees.

You can delay making any repayments for up to three years while you learn; the Government will even pay the interest on the loan during this period.

Who can apply?

Applicants must be aged 18 years or over at the time of application
Applicants can be employed, self-employed, unemployed or a student
Applicants must not be in receipt of, or entitled to receive, a Local Education Authority mandatory award
Applicants must not be receiving other funding that covers the expenses applied for through a CDL
Applicants must not have reasonable and adequate access to funds to pay for the course other than with a CDL
Applicants must intend to use the training to work within the EU

What courses are covered by CDL?

All courses provided by E P Training Services Ltd, both full-time and part-time, are eligible for a CDL.
