Due to its popularity, EP Training run ADR courses most weeks of the year. As an approved Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA) training centre, we are able to offer all 9 classes and modules.
EP Training is one of a handful of companies in the UK that run the ADR explosives (class 1) and ADR radioactive (class 7) courses. Training for these specialist classes runs every 6 weeks. We can also run ADR courses ‘in-house’ if preferred.
On successful completion of the course and exams, students will receive an ADR Vocational Training Certificate (ADR VTC). The details of the VTC will vary depending on the class or classes chosen. In order to achieve a certificate, students must complete the core module, the package module and/or the tanker module and at least one class of dangerous goods.
Driver CPC Periodic Training
Drivers who attended a packaged goods (code P1) course with EP Training can receive 21 hours Driver CPC. This is a 3.5 days course that covers core, package and all classes, except 1 and 7.
Drivers who attend a packaged goods and tanker awareness course (code C1) can also gain 28 hours Driver CPC training hours. Book a 5 day ADR course with EP Training Services also get 35 hours Driver CPC training free. You only pay the £43.75 upload fee. Drivers will need to return for 1 extra day Driver CPC training.
ADR Core Module
The core module is a mandatory requirement for drivers wanting an ADR VTC licence. The core module covers topics such as current legislation, first aid, fire precautions and emergency procedures. Course duration is 1.5 days.
ADR Package Module
This module is mandatory for drivers transporting dangerous goods by road in boxed vehicles, curtain siders and tippers. Course duration is 5 days.
ADR Tank Module
This module is mandatory for drivers transporting dangerous goods in road tankers and tank containers, i.e. petrol tanker. Course duration is 1.5 days.
ADR Classes
There are 9 classes of dangerous goods including, explosives, gasses, flammable liquids, flammable solids, oxidising substances, toxic substances, radioactives, corrosives and miscellaneous substances. Students must pass examinations for their chosen classes and modules. The exams are multiple choice. In the unlikely event that a student fails to reach the pass mark, students can return to re-take the failed class or module without having to partake in a full course.
ADR Refresher Courses
Refresher courses are available for those drivers who already hold an ADR VTC.
