CPC Training: Course Overview

Operator CPC
If you operate a goods vehicles over 3.5 tonnes gvw you will require an Operator’s Licence. To obtain a standard  licence you must hold the relevant Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Haulage (CPC) qualification. A Standard Operator’s Licence is required for hire and reward operations and a Restricted Operator’s Licence for own account.

How you Attain the Operator CPC Qualification has Changed.
The EU Directive 96/26/EC now combines the national and international freight syllabus into one examination / qualification. It is no longer possible to attain just a national CPC qualification. 

International CPC Examination
The OCR (examination body) will still be offering the international exam.
The exam will be open to persons who acquired the CPC national qualification after 2000 and before 3rd December 2011.

Operator CPC Course Driver CPC Approved
Attend a 9 day national and international CPC freight course with EP Training and get 35 hours Driver CPC at the same time. Our CPC national and international freight course is J.A.U.P.T approved and can be counted towards periodic Driver CPC training hours.

Home Study Courses and Short 2 day Seminar Courses 
You can study for CPC national and international or just the international freight course from home, or attend our 2 day seminar courses (run to coincide with examination dates.)

The CPC Examination

To gain your CPC you must pass the relevant CPC examinations. They are conducted four times per year at approved OCR examination centres. E P Training Services Ltd is an approved OCR examination centre.

Structure of Law, Business and Company Law, Social Legislation, Financial Management Techniques, Commercial Conduct of Business, General Insurance, Vehicle Maintenance. General Traffic Regulations, Vehicle Taxation, Marketing,  Methods of Operating, Operator Licensing, Weights and Dimensions of Vehicles. Vehicle Selection, Safety of Loads, Mechanical Condition, Driver’s Hours and records, Vocational Driving Licences, Speed Limits, Traffic Accident Procedure and Vehicle and Goods Insurance
