CPC Training: Course Overview

If you operate goods vehicles over 3.5 tonnes gvw you will require an Operator's Licence. To obtain a standard  licence you must hold the relevant Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Haulage (CPC) qualification. A Standard Operator's Licence is required for hire and reward operations and a Restricted Operator's Licence for own account.

If you wish to operate for hire and reward in the UK, you will require a Standard National CPC and, for international purposes, you will require both a National and an International CPC. No CPC holder is required for a Restricted Operator's Licence. E.P. Training Services offers intensive and distance learning courses for both the National and International Freight syllabuses.

CPC EXAMINATION SYLLABUS

The National Freight Syllabus is divided into three modules, 1, 2 and 4, a Case Study.

General Traffic Regulations, Vehicle Taxation

Consists of a case study taken from the syllabus in Modules 1 and 2

The International Freight Syllabus consists of Module 6 which includes a case study.

THE OCR EXAMINATION

To gain your CPC you must pass the relevant CPC examinations. They are conducted four times per year at approved OCR examination centres. E P Training Services Ltd is an approved OCR examination centre.

The OCR examination for the National Freight syllabus consists of Modules 1 and 2 (multi-choice questions) and Module 4 (case study).

The OCR examination for the International Freight syllabus consists of Module 6 (short response questions and a case study).
