HIAB Training in Surrey

EP Training is your top choice for HIAB training in Surrey and West Sussex, whether you're a novice or an experienced operator, whether we come to you or you come to us. As an ALLMI and JAUPT approved HIAB training organization, EP Training boasts expert, qualified instructors with years of experience.

HIAB, the manufacturer's name, has become a generic term for "Mobile Lorry Loader". Upon completion and successful passing of both a theory and practical test, participants will receive an ALLMI CSCS certificate and qualification card, valid for 5 years with the option to renew every 60 months.

The ALLMI CSCS qualification card will either be for up to 20 tonne capacity (limited to 20 T) or over 20 tonnes (unlimited) and will usually have at least one of the following attachments: Hook, Clam Shell, Brick Grab, Shovel, or Remote Control.

ALLMI rules stipulate the number of attachments achievable per person per course. Attachment limits depend on the type of course (initial or refresher) and number of attendees, typically allowing for 2 attachments to be gained on any one HIAB course.

HIAB Training with Added Driver CPC

Both the 1 Day refresher and 2 day initial ALLMI courses offered by EP Training allow you to accumulate Driver CPC hours. 7 hours will be added to your Driver CPC training record.

To attend a 1 day refresher course, you or your employee must have at least 15 hours of recent (in the last 12 months) practical experience operating a HIAB. You must also have or have had a previous related qualification from a “recognised body”. This could be ALLMI, ITTSAR, RTITB etc. You can still attend this one-day course even if your current qualification has expired, however it must not have exceeded 6 months.

Without this experience or previous qualification, the 2 day initial course must be completed.

You have two training options:

  • EP Training can come to you, offering training and testing on your own vehicle and HIAB.
  • Alternatively, you can come to EP Training and train on our unlimited HIAB at Great Bookham, Surrey, or Cranleigh, West Sussex.

Please note, if you choose to train with us, we only have the HOOK and REMOTE attachments.
