Minibus Training in Surrey

Driving a minibus with 9-16 passenger seats requires a category D1 entitlement on your licence. If you plan to drive a minibus with a trailer exceeding 750kgs, you'll need a D1E entitlement. Furthermore, driving a minibus for hire and reward necessitates additional Driver CPC training. While this might seem daunting, EP Training is here to help.

We have many years of experience in delivering practical D1 training, and our instructors are DSA approved. All your training will take place at our modern, approved facilities in Great Bookham using our modern, well-maintained training vehicles. Here, you'll learn everything you need to know for your practical test, which will take place at the DSA test centre in Guildford.

Upon completion of your Initial Driver CPC (if required as part of your training), you'll receive a Driver Qualification Card valid for 5 years. After this, you'll need to undertake a further 35 hours of Periodic training. EP Training is a leading provider of both Initial and Periodic Driver CPC courses.

At EP Training, we provide comprehensive support to help you acquire your minibus licence. We can arrange your medical and/or your D1 practical driving test at no extra cost. We can also assist you in ordering additional training books and publications if needed.

If you need a minibus refresher course, we offer tailored courses to meet your specific requirements.

D1 Restriction Code 101

If you passed your category B (car) test before 1st January 1997, you might already have a D1 entitlement on your licence, which allows you to drive a minibus without additional training. However, if your licence carries a restriction code 101, this means that you'll need to undertake Driver CPC training to drive a minibus for hire or reward.

Whether you're just starting or need to refresh your skills, EP Training is here to guide you through the process. Contact us for more information, or book your training online today.

Option 1: D1 with Driver CPC Training Course

£1,649.00

Anyone wanting to drive a category D1 vehicle professionally will need to pass Driver CPC and PCV D1. Having one without the other makes no sense.  Anyone without both will not be able to source employment.

EP Trainings' experienced team can guide and manage the entire Driver CPC and PCV D1 acquisition from medical to final practical test. With 5 tests in total, why not let EP Training manage the whole process?

Price includes:

  • A medical with our GP (arranged at EP Training's premises in Bookham, Surrey)
  • Assistance with applying for your provisional C licence
  • The official theory training material
  • All 3 theory tests booked (multi choice, hazard perception and Driver CPC case study)
  • A 3 day practical driving course
  • 1 day Module 4 CPC course and exam.

There are NO hidden extras and the price includes vat and all test fees.

Option 2: D1 without Driver CPC

£1,449.00

Not everyone needing D1 will also be requiring Driver CPC. As a result EP Training offers the option which allows you to gain D1 without CPC (Modules 2 and 4).

For example, ambulance drivers/paramedics do NOT require Driver CPC as their main occupation is NOT driving commercially.  Also, if you only want to obtain D1 to use for private use then CPC is NOT required. We advise you search online for “Exemptions to Driver CPC” to find more information on this. It is anticipated that 6-8 weeks will be taken up completing the following:

All prices including test fees and VAT:

  • A short medical with EP Training’s own Doctor in Great Bookham, Surrey. This is expected to only take 20 minutes.
  • All provisional licence application forms completed, checked and forwarded to DVLA.
  • Online, official, unlimited theory tuition.
  • 2 theory tests arranged at your local DVSA theory test centre
  • 3 days driving MGV training course delivered in and around the Guildford area, with a driving test booked for the end of your course.
