ADR Training - An Insight
Posted on March 12, 2021 by Sean Pargeter
In light of COVID-19, we've made some adaptions to how we run our ADR training courses. If you're looking to obtain an ADR licence in the transportation of dangerous goods and hazardous goods by road, you've come to the right place!
We've spent a lot of time swapping our ADR training and Driver CPC classroom courses to online learning and are delighted to offer online ADR courses in the following classes of dangerous goods:
- Class 2: Gases
- Class 3: Flammable Liquids
- Class 4: Flammable Solids
- Class 5: Oxidisers
- Class 6: Toxics
Class 1: Explosives and Class 7: Radioactives ADR courses remain classroom based and dates for each one day course in 2021 can be found over on our dedicated ADR page.
For any online training course you will need to ensure you equip yourself with a few essentials. You will need to have a laptop, PC or tablet (with a working camera and microphone) and also WiFi.
Make sure you have a room in your house that you will be comfortable to work in all day (course duration for our ADR training is 8:00am to 4:00pm daily).
Our ADR training courses and are still approved by the SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority) and you will still qualify for the following Driver CPC hours with your dangerous goods training:
- ADR Code P1: 21 hours Driver CPC
- ADR Code C1: 35 hours Driver CPC
- ADR Codes T1 & LPG1: 14 hours Driver CPC
Once you have completed your online ADR training you will have to attend a few hours at our training centre to sit your examination. This is a mandatory requirement as a provider of ADR online courses. Without sitting ADR exams you cannot complete your training course in your chosen ADR class or classes and become a qualified ADR driver.
You do not have to attend our training centre for the Driver CPC periodic element of your ADR training. This will automatically be assigned to you.
The cost of our online ADR training remains competitively low and we always aim to offer our students and customers value for money. Even though you're not in the classroom and you can't meet people face-to-face, you'll still be getting transport training from our highly qualified and skilled tutors who have many years of experience in the movement of dangerous goods and hazardous goods. You'll still be able to interact with our tutors and ask them questions throughout the duration of your ADR course. Furthermore, without the travelling and parking courses to attend classroom based training you'll be saving even more money!
