FORS Approved Driver Training courses

LoCity is accredited by FORS and focuses on reducing the carbon emitted impact of trucks and buses. This will be achieved by better journey planning, defensive and fuel efficient driving techniques as well as investigating other “environmentally friendly” alternative fuels.

This is a 7 hour course and can count as Driver CPC hours which can be delivered online or in the classroom.

At the end of this course candidates will have a better understanding of the following issues: air quality and reducing fuel consumption by planning journeys and improving the vehicle checking system. Investigating ways to use technology advances to help improve efficiently and reduce the impact on the environment.

Transport Operators can demonstrate adherence to FORS D4 as professional development by encouraging their drivers to complete this training session.

This is a must attend course all commercial HGV drivers, and is seen as a recommended course for bus and small van drivers attaining Silver FORS accreditation S5/G5 level.


TruckSmart follows a course syllabus that can count as Driver CPC hours.

At the end of this course candidates will have a better understanding of the following issues:

Staying Legal

This course has been developed to inform and educate professional drivers of the importance of compliance when driving an HGV commercially on the public highway. This along with the need to consistently achieve and improve the standard to ensure the integrity of the operator licence. This course can also count towards Driver CPC training hours.

At the end of this course candidates will have a better understanding of the following issues, Transport Operator licensing essentials, The rules and regulations that underpin the legal requirements of commercial road transport operations. A sound knowledge of the enforcement agencies and related associations.

How enforcement agencies work and operate, along with the most common types of non-compliance. The outcomes of commercial driver infringements.
